    Hello there.

I am interested in the race series but not this year. I’m an experienced ultra runner and multimarathoner and am good for at least a few hundred miles over several days. However, I also don’t believe in biting off more than I can personally chew. Last November was my first quad marathon, and this June I’ll be doing a 300-miler over 8 days from Austin, TX to Gainesville, TX to call attention to diabetes and exercise. I’m a type 1 diabetic myself, the first to complete a USATF sanctioned quadzilla, and an ultra-endurance triathlete. I’m hoping to work my way up over the next couple of years do doing a solo 223 mile run (in 2016), several across-the-state runs if possible, and then a run across the US in 2017. If I get that far, I will be only the third type 1 to run across North America, and almost certainly the oldest (I’m 53).

Let me know if this is good enough to be part of your team. I would be very interested in doing my due diligence and working it into my plan.

We aren’t planning to hold the Race Across USA next year. My recommendation would be to try to participate this year. Message me if you have any questions. Darren
