Race Across California Details

We have several races planned in California.

CA01 – Border to Border (10 Marathons)

AngelStadium

Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA

On the first day, the route for Race Across California will follow the Santa Ana River, passing Anaheim Stadium (the home of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on the left and the Honda Center (the home of the Anaheim Ducks) on the right. On the second day, the runners will stop briefly at the headquarters of the 100 Mile Club® in Norco, CA for a second send off and celebration! After five total days of running, the runners will take a break in Twentynine Palms (near Joshua Tree National Park) to visit local schools, telling students about the journey and also inviting them to join the 100 Mile Club®.

SR62

No services for 100 Miles along SR62

This is where things get interesting because the runners will continue along State Route 62 – one of the most desolate stretches of highway in California. As they leave Twentynine Palms, they will be confronted with a sign that warns drivers (and them!) that there are no services for 100 miles. On the final day of the state and after a total of 261 miles, the athletes will cross the Colorado River – California’s border with Arizona! For these runners, the “River” will represent a significant accomplishment and acceptance into an exclusive club.

This is part of the Race Across USA marathon series. You will be running with the Core Team who are going coast to coast from California to Washington DC. Runners need to arrive the night before at 5pm to check-in.

On the second day, the runners will stop briefly at the headquarters of the 100 Mile Club® in Norco, CA (the benefactor of this race) for a second send off and celebration! During day three, we return to the Santa Ana River trail and then peel off in Loma Linda passing through the “Badlands” along San Timoteo Canyon Rd. On day four, we will pass through Beaumont, Banning and ending in Whitewater near the Palm Springs Tram. Each day, runners will receive support every 6 1/2 miles. Those runners who complete this challenge will receive a one-of-a-kind buckle.
