According to the CDC, childhood obesity has more than doubled in children and quadrupled in adolescents in the past 30 years. At the present time, 12.5 million children, ages 6-19 in the United States are obese. Many more are overweight. Starting January 16, 2015, an international team of athletes will begin a 4 1/2 month journey, running the equivalent of 117 back-to-back marathons across the United States with the goal of inspiring a healthier generation. Join us as we run across the country. Apply for the core team, cross a state or run one of thirteen 4-day challenge events. If you are not a runner, you can sponsor, donate or volunteer! Planning your own Race Across the USA with your Students

Whether or not your school is located along the route, there’s another way you can participate! If your class has 20-30 students, they could also start “Running Across the USA” as a team leaving January 16, 2015. Each week, you would add up all of the miles that they have run and enter it our our tracking tool. Race Across the USA has partnered with WorldWalking.org to reproduce our route. After your classroom covers 266 miles (about two weeks), your students will be rewarded with fun geography facts about the State of California! Ironically, they might even beat us to Washington DC! If you have questions or are interested in learning more about the 100 Mile Club® please contact us.
